Both Sides of the Street
My working life has been spent in the visual and applied arts; design and illustration, audio visual productions,art direction and management.
The style of my personal work, however representational, was a reaction to the constraints of client demands, less structured, looser in execution,
trying to capture the pure essence of the visual stimuli I respond to: serenity in quiet corners, skies and shadows, water and reflections.
After many years of working almost exclusively in water media, drawing and printmaking, I recently embarked on new mediums in an effort to be less representational: mixed media, colored pencil and oil pastel.
The results have been satisfying but inconsistent, a reminder that achieving good work ain’t easy.
